The State of ShotTracker: A Message from our CEO

Dear Valued Partner,

I have always been an optimist, living at the intersections of sports, media and technology and it’s critical to understand the current landscape of the industry while anticipating its future trajectory. That intersection is where ShotTracker resides and has put down some solid roots over the years. However, as with any location, we have to keep updating our framework to make sure the building from where we built our foundation remains vibrant and productive for all who we come in contact with.

The game is evolving at lightning speed and so are we. I’m thrilled to announce Greg Kikorsky as CRO and LaDonna Gooden as COO, headlining a group of 12 new team members who are transforming how we serve basketball. Our newest additions include AI pioneers who can match the split-second nature of the game and marketing experts who know how to share that story with the sports community.  The game is moving fast and now we are better positioned than ever to move with it.

First, there is our core basketball business, which is working with teams, leagues and organizations to maximize athlete and team potential, better optimize performance, streamline productivity and improve the game experience. Our commitment to continuous innovation has solidified our position as the standard in basketball analytics, with our flagship solution Helix, now delivering unprecedented insights 24/7, 365 days a year. Over the past year, we have seen an increase in usage across all of our teams by roughly 30%, a testament to the strength of our player development solution.

From our foundational work with powerhouses like Kansas and South Carolina to expanding partnerships with Indiana, Purdue and Marshall, we’re poised for significant growth. Our latest advancement in possession level analytics allows coaches to instantly identify and share crucial patterns during live games – whether it’s a defensive breakdown or an offensive surge. The new Squads feature takes this even further, using AI driven analysis to optimize player combinations for specific game situations. Through our deepening relationship with conferences like the Big 12, we’re not just collecting feedback – we’re actively investing in features that transform how coaches approach their game preparation and in-game adjustments.

As Artificial Intelligence and machine learning reshape basketball, we’re uniquely positioned at the intersection of performance technology and practical application. Our decade of leadership in sports performance has positioned us at a transformative moment in basketball analytics. Through close collaboration with elite coaches like Bill Self, Dawn Staley, Julie Fulks and the coaching staffs of schools like K-State and BYU, we’ve introduced Scout, a platform that is redefining how teams prepare and win.  Scout has revolutionized video analysis with its AI-powered search capabilities. Think of it as having a basketball savvy Siri that instantly recalls any play from our extensive video library. This empowers coaches to game plan in the office or on the road while recruiting.  An entire video archive is accessible 24/7 through any device.

Another key product introduction is Pulse, which delivers what the industry has been demanding: true courtside intelligence. Coaches can now track multiple game feeds simultaneously, access real-time video on the bench and dive into comprehensive content packages spanning from elite high school to college and pro basketball. The ability to analyze multiple box scores and video streams at once while making immediate in game adjustments is changing how games are coached. We are delivering the future of basketball technology today.

In short, we have upped our business game to match the needs of the market, and we have scored wins in every quad imaginable, not just for our company and our team, but for partners both existing and those coming on board in the coming months. Many have asked about the issue and opportunity on everyone’s mind these days…Name Image and Likeness. We have some viable options tied to our technology and performance. Stay tuned for more on this topic, it’s on the horizon.

The evolution of our fan engagement solution also represents a leap forward in how teams connect with their audience and maximize sponsorship revenue. While our foundation remains rooted in elite team and athlete analytics, we’ve transformed that same powerful technology into HYPE – redefining the fan experience across arenas, broadcast and social media. We’re seeing incredible traction with major partners around marquee events such as the Big 12 Tournament. What excites me most is how HYPE is creating electric moments that bring fans closer to the game they love. From real-time 3D visualizations that capture every play to interactive challenges that turn passive viewers into passionate participants, HYPE is delivering that wow factor.  It also represents a unique ability to create new sponsorable moments, dramatically expanding revenue opportunities  And we’re just getting started – our vision is to make every basketball game, at every level, an unforgettable interactive experience that unites generations of fans in their love of the game.

While all of that is tied to our beloved game of men’s and women’s basketball on every level, we are also looking at parallel pathing much of what we have learned into other sports like football and soccer, but more of that later. After all, as we get past the Super Bowl, the focus of North America turns to hoops for the next few months, and that’s where our core focus is.

What does this mean to you? Hopefully a great deal. We are excited to share our journey, our learnings and our success with you and to see how we can continue to evolve as a business and as a community. Our work at our core has been built on a vibrant community of problem solvers and visionaries who have continued as “what if” in the sports and technology space. Keep asking, keep listening, keep pushing, and we will do the same.

That’s where we are and now you know where we are going. Hope you join us on the ride, our house is open, the renovation is complete but we are always sprucing up, and we look forward to having you stop by.
