Open Position Summary
Role Overview

The Technology Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring the operational readiness and performance of a global network of tracking, analytics and mobile App delivery systems serving the sports industry.

Organizational Influence

The Technology Operations Lead will report to the Head of Technology & Data Operations and have responsibility for the operations of the company’s entire network infrastructure, supporting ShotTracker’s service delivery to all its internal and external customers worldwide. The Incumbent will manage the operations and maintenance of all ShotTracker technology infrastructure including cloudhosted Company and third-party applications, remote servers and devices on customer networks, and support applications for ShotTracker business functions. Incumbent will interact across the ShotTracker organization with Installations/Field Services, Team Success, Technology Development and Product Management. Where the Company purchases and/or outsources technology services, incumbent will manage these relationships.

Goals & Measures

The success of the Technology Operations Lead will be measured by application network performance, technical problem resolution cycle-time and quality, and the rate of improvement of performance across all technology operations.

  • Establish Tech Support strategies, plans & product/process roadmap for Team Success & Game Success
  • Monitor key performance metrics for each deployed system and proactively investigate out-ofband anomalies
  • Provide engineering feedback for all metric-based monitoring systems and identify new support-based metrics to ensure customer success
  • Perform remote system maintenance on ShotTracker servers and sensor systems
  • Perform remote system troubleshooting utilizing in-house signal analysis tools and all known system tools
  • Perform network and switch troubleshooting
  • Provide 2nd-level technical support for all reported system issues and work closely with Team Success Leads to identify and understand customer issues
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand and identify issues as well as assist in improving all operational system parameters

Education/Skills/Experience Required:
  • Hands-on leader, strong & creative problem-solver, strong process & systems orientation
  • Highly proficient in Linux-based operating system and tools including remote shell
  • Knowledge of Linux server network administration and configuration
  • Knowledge of network switch administration and configuration
  • Experience working with, creating, and debugging shell scripts
  • Experienced with DevOps tools
  • Experience interacting with problem-resolution ticket systems
  • Excellent communication and problem resolution skills
  • Solution oriented with high sense of quality and attention to detail and accuracy of results
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software systems and related connections
  • Experience with Puppet DevOps platform
  • Experience in telecom, cable or security services industries
  • Experience in or understanding of customer service processes
