ShotTracker is the creator of a revolutionary basketball technology that captures stats and analytics human-less and in real-time. The recent recipient of a prestigious Edison Award in the category of “Digitized Data,” the sports tech company has raised over $21 million dollars from a list of prominent tech and sports industry investors including former NBA Commissioner David Stern and NCAA/NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson. The ShotTracker system is already being utilized or installed by teams in the Big 12, ACC, Big 10 and SEC including Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, LSU, Miami and a fast-growing list of other top collegiate basketball programs. Co-founded in Overland Park, Kansas by basketball and technology experts Davyeon Ross and Bruce Ianni, ShotTracker has been one of the stars of KC’s start-up ecosystem and is rapidly growing its team for attacking the dynamic sports data space.

The Technology Operations Lead

ShotTracker is seeking a key tech team leader for its growth phase, to be based in its KC metro corporate office. The Technology Operations Lead reports to the Chief Technology Officer and has responsibility for the operations of the company’s entire network infrastructure, supporting ShotTracker’s service delivery to all its internal and external customers worldwide. The applicant will manage the operations and maintenance of all ShotTracker technology infrastructure including cloudhosted companies and third-party applications, remote servers and devices on customer networks, and support applications for ShotTracker business functions. This position will interact across the ShotTracker organization with Field Services, Team Success, Technology Development, Product Management and all external technology partners and providers.

Education/Skills/Experience Required:
  • Software engineering/programming/IT degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years relevant experience, with progressively broader responsibility in a technology services business environment
  • Engaged leader with excellent communication skills
  • Creative problem-solver displaying focused process & systems orientation
  • Solution oriented with strong sense of quality, attention to detail and accuracy of results
  • Highly proficient in Linux-based operating system and tools including remote shell
  • Knowledge of Linux server network administration and configuration
  • Knowledge of network switch administration and configuration
  • Experience working with, creating, and debugging shell scripts
  • Experienced with development operations tools
  • Experience interacting with problem-resolution ticket systems
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software systems and related connections
